Clarification of story genesis: typist not researcher
editThe section on the story's genesis says "The story had its genesis in research Asimov was conducting on behalf of an academic writing a book on social resistance to technological change."
From the book "The Early Asimov" (1972) Asimov writes "[...] I applied for and received a National Youth Administration (NYA) job designed to help me through college. I received fifteen dollars a month [...] for a few hours of typing. The typing I did was for a sociologist who was writing a book on the subject of social resistance to technological change."
Thus, Asimov was not conducting research, but rather, typing up someone else's research, according to the account Asimov relates in "The Early Asimov". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snapdragon630 (talk • contribs) 23:12, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
