Discussion

This article looks like the rapper wrote it himself... all this written stuff, about a completely unknown rapper? = = = This article seemed to be a collection of paragraphs that often repeated each other, symptoms of copy-paste jobs from other sites. I can't find enough of it on the web for a full blown copyvio tag, but please don't copy verbatim from other sources guys. I've done my best to tidy up, but this whole article really needs a rewrite. I've also junked a load of the POV stuff from the end.84.43.1.92 23:00, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Two articles on the same guy.

Rewrites

I know this rapper personally and I changed the PR version of his life to the actual happenings.

G-Unit Records

Trick Trick has inked a deal with 50 cent's label and it should be mentioned in the article along with the label he is signed to. volumesoxxs 04:57, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Tricktrick.jpg

edit

Image:Tricktrick.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Homophobia

edit

Trick Trick is a homophobe and recently said he didn't want gays to buy his album, not taking into consideration the fact that nobody knows who the fuck he is. Not to mention the fact that their "faggot money" as he so politely refers to it, would have never gone to him in the first place because they would much rather buy from real artists who don't try and get free publicity from bigoted remarks that will get them nowhere in life except maybe to hell.

I always thought homophobia means you're afraid of gays. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.112.165.53 (talk) 22:13, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Literally, but in the modern understanding it also means hate of gays. But why I am writing that, you probably know that ... --84.153.60.215 (talk) 19:36, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
No one else has a "So what?" kind of feeling about this taking up 60% of the article. I came here to learn about who this rapper is, not whether or not he likes gays. I agree that the remarks he said are total crap, and I believe gays should have every single right straights do, but c'mon, is this tidbit of info really more noteworthy then anything else this guy has done in his life? I'm asking honestly because I don't know, and I feel this article's agenda has totally outweighed it's usefulness. 76.95.58.104 (talk) 22:57, 17 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I appreciate what the comment above is trying to say, but there should be something on his page to indicate his songs are filled with homophobic hate-speech. With a good reference. Keep it concise, sure, but at least fucking say it. Editors on other articles have identified the views of people in their biographies: the pages of Eminem, 50 Cent and Marilyn Manson have loads of stuff on there about their various controversies, so I move that this fact be included in plain site on the article - even though what I'd really like is for it to just say 'apart from rapping, Trick Trick also attempts to make money through being a close minded hypocritical fuckhead. So far he has been unsuccessful.' Joncheetham88 (talk) 18:16, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

What a load of pants

edit

The whole thing is about his homophobic comments. Is he more notable for his homophobia than his rapping? Probably, actually, but I think the quote is waaaaay too long. One sentence of it would get the point across. And why the godfuck are some words censored? I'd change it but I have no interest in the man and can't be bothered. Just seems pretty POV to spend the whole lead painting him as a homophobe. I'm sure he's a douche but Wikipeida's meant to be neutral and having 80% of the lead comprised of a quote from one interview seems a bit off.ElijahReno (talk) 18:26, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

His bio has multiple grammar mistakes and seems to be written by a fan, I say his bio needs a revision Bildeberg (talk) 00:29, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

No mention of subject's homophobic views

edit

There's a fair amount of discussion on this talk page about the subject's homophobic statements, but absolutely no mention of this in the article. A user above seems to imply that this article once had much more information on this issue, and while I agree with them that this one thing should not be given undue weight, it does seem that the article is weakened by not having a single mention of this. I just want to get a more recent up-to-date discussion going on this issue, although if the matter is largely settled I am perfectly willing to add a section regarding Mathis' homophobic statements, including any retractions or apologies he has since made (although I have not been able to find any). Devgirl (talk) 22:16, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Reliably sourced, sure, but shouldn't be more than just a sentence or two, as there's so little notable about him that I'm not sure it would undue weight given that's not what he's most known for, which is rather being a rapper, and he's barely known for that. This page is such a target for fanboy or/and paid aggrandizement, though. JesseRafe (talk) 22:33, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
