Grid location Subscripts
editFor clarity the subscripts of the cartisean grid location, here marked x and y, used to denote the location on the grid where the original data is being taken from should be labeled something else. This is to avoid confusion with the actual values of x,y and z that would be used in the interpolation factors. Also it should be noted that the data at the discreet points is denoted with an r.
Also the diagram of a cube is note very helpful and has no relevant notation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Citizenthom (talk • contribs) 17:10, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't agree. The cube, although not used in the article, helps give intuition for the problem area. Limited Atonement (talk) 20:37, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
- I am also in favour of returning the graphic based on the above however, perhaps it would be best to replace it with a graphic that better describes how Tricubic interpolation works visually. EvilxFish (talk) 15:17, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
Definitions
editthe line contains the undefined function . How should this function be defined? Does it matter?

Based on the above comment, I suppose that returns the sampled value at that point and is defined at . But, as stated above, that's not entirely clear from the article.
