editIs this still a stub? It has a fair amount of content. If so, what additional content should be here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Phantom784 (talk • contribs) at 16:51, 2 August 2005

Kix Connection?
edit- Trix seems to be a spin-off of Kix (based on the names, which rhyme, and the shape.) WizardDuck 02:58, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I was just thinking the same thing. The other factor I thought of is that the name "Trix" suggests the number three, also, the number of flavors the cereal originally had. (So it'd be like "Tri-Kix" or something.) Octan 02:52, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
i was just wondering if trix was ever round before??? like back in the 80's or something....something reminds me of them being round...not the fruit shaped...
Yes, Trix was most definitely round when I was a kid (way back in the late '60s). I don't know when the shape was changed.
I think I remember round Trix into the early 90's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.180.195 (talk) 00:57, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Family guy episode trivia
editI remember in the episode of family guy, "breaking out is hard to do", it shows a trix commercial as a sponsor for a sumo wrestling match on TV. In the sponsorship commercial, it shows a bunch of asian children at a table eating trix, while an angry trix rabit stands watching them. The kids say "silly rabbit, trix are for kids," and the trix rabbit resolves to killing the children with karate moves. After he kills them, he runs off with one of the child's bowl of trix cereal.
Name
editWhats his name? Silly Rabbit?
Spoiler Warning Needed
editIn the bit about the reference in Kill Bill Vol. 1, the real name of The Bride is given away without even a spoiler warning. True, it's a stupid name, and revealing it doesn't spoil a great element of the story, but Tarantino bleeped out her name from the film on purpose, and it's not revealed until the second film because he wanted it that way. I suggest either removing the name, just leaving in "and provides a hint as to her real name", or adding a spoiler warning. Djr36 23:17, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Prejudice in commercials
editThis might be considered over-the-top, but do you think the Trix commercials, in a way, represent prejudice and rascism? Think about this. The Rabbit, representing African Americains, wants to have one bowl of Trix cereal(representing the same rights as white people), but the white people(The Kids) say, "Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!" in other words, that means, "Stupid! We get to have this and you can't because you're not like us!" I wonder if that could be considered in the article. 65.103.61.154 22:33, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
I think you're reading too much into an advertising campaign. 216.254.25.199 16:09, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
I was just suggesting some thoughts. Somebody ought to warn General Mills about this possibility, or some legal trouble might come up, and we might lose a huge contribution to our breakfast system. Not trying to be harsh, I'm just collecting what can be gotten from the facts of what is evident and presenting them for dicussion. 65.103.61.154 00:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Was that support...or opposition? 65.103.61.154 21:14, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Why does the rabbit represent African Americans? Why can't the rabbit represent nonhumans? Creatures that aren't human don't have the same rights as humans. Secondly think of how stupid that is if someone actually complained and actually thought African Americans were being represented by a white rabbit. Political correctness has already gone too far. It is an advertisement, that is all. (Jvclark2 (talk) 12:40, 28 August 2008 (UTC))
A white rabbit represents African Americans? Seriously? Come on. Not everything in the world is racially motivated. Use some common sense. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.180.195 (talk) 01:00, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Changed flavor/texture also
editIt should be noted in the article they didn't only change the shape, the recipe was also changed as the cereal's taste and texture are now completely different than 20 years ago. I would add this information but I'm unsure of when this recipe change took place. I vividly remember both Trix and Kix having a completely different flavor and texture when I was growing up in the 1980's. The round cereal pieces were lighter in weight, actually hollow inside and the sweetness was lower. The cereal also did not stick to one's teeth as much as it does now. --67.149.150.252 (talk) 06:52, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Erm...
editIm pretty sure this is vandalism "n a live action Got Milk? commercial ad, the rabbit is disguised as a dick (played by Yo momma) in a supermarket. He buys a box of Trix, and the cashier says to him, "Trix? Trix are for kids." The rabbit returns to his home mumbling the phrase "Damn I want a comdom". Excited, he pours himself a bowl, yelling "Today, they're for rabbits!" and laughing maniacally, but when he is about to add milk, he discovers there's no milk left in the carton. The commercial ends with the Got Milk? screen." I'm pretty sure it should be, like, removed. G man yo (talk) 07:00, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay, it's fixed. The guy who did it is Sk8rboi1720, his talk page is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Sk8rboi1720 . He or she has done this to other pages as well, I'm pretty sure he should be blocked from editing. G man yo (talk) 07:15, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Cereal, not rabbits
editI've removed most of the Advertisements section as cruft or trivia, and attempted to sum up its main message as best I can. If you feel you could do better about it, do so, but don't double the article size rambling about one or two commercials (indeed, a few commercials was the heart of most of my removals). Unfortunately, this makes the article basically a stub, so I'll try and dig up some more information on the cereal itself, if possible; it's what the article is about, but it's also noticably lacking in info so far. What is all the cryptic stuff about the commercials?
editExamples: "In September 1989, Silly Rabbit is Upside Down. . . In October 1989, Silly Rabbit turned into the real bunny. . . In November 27, 1994, Trix looks like the chawkboard. . . 1954: Kids first debut in the cereal box. In the commercial, Silly Rabbit first appears in 1954 in 60 seconds. 1974: Silly Rabbit is happy loving in cereal box."
Either explain in full sentences (that make sense) about the commercials or drop this weirdness entirely. I still don't know what some of these are trying to say.
For example: Where is Silly Rabbit upside down in 1989? In the commercials, on picture on the cereal box?
What does it mean that in October 1989 Silly Rabbit turned into a real bunny? Was he a live-action trained bunny in the commercials? Was he a cartoon bunny drawn like a real bunny? How did he turn?
How does Silly Rabbit on November 27, 1994 look like a "chawkboard"? Do the kids draw on him with chalk? Was it really just for that one day?
In 1954 there are kids in the cereal box? So you could get a free adopted child with each Trix cereal purchase that year?
In 1954 it takes Silly Rabbit 60 seconds to appear? Or this was the first commercial for Trix that was 60 seconds long?
In 1974 Silly Rabbit is happy making love in the cereal box? I guess the 70s were really groovy!
But seriously, all these summaries are complete nonsense. They don't help explain anything to anyone who doesn't know what whoever wrote them is talking about. They either need to actually explain things that people can understand or be removed if this information isn't appropriate for the article, not just be incoherent nonsense.
