Left in the bad EL, no Notability hat
editThere is notability, just not in EN, and I don't speak any of those languages. The EL seems harmless, and has the only EN info I found on a quick search.
I applied the editorial hatchet to the travelogue.User talk:Unfriend12 01:50, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
Looking at the native language Wiki, I found essentially the same text (possibly software translated?), and no sources. There were ELs, but none in English. I did find a travel site, offering tours, in English. However, no further luck with sources. I don't see anything else for me to add at this time. A nice, simple stub.User talk:Unfriend12 04:22, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
Geological aspect
editWhat would really improve this article would be a description of the particular geology and processes that led to Trolltunga's formation. Leondz (talk) 12:35, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Selfie??
editThe statement that Trolltunga is the "number one in the world where an impressive selfie can be taken" needs to be revised. A selfie is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a digital camera or camera phone held in the hand or supported by a selfie stick whereas the typical photo taken of Trolltunga is taken from vantage points hundreds of metres away. These are just photos, not selfies. 115.188.244.132 (talk) 11:36, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
- The source, the internet magazine in the U.S., wrote that impressive selfies can be taken, not that most photos are selfies.--BIL (talk) 20:33, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Date formatting
editThe date formation is using at least 3 different 'styles'. YMD 2015-09-08 seems most used and the original type, hence my change of one ref to that style. Suggest it be converted fully. 220 of Borg 02:28, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
coordinates?
editCoordinates in wiki-en and wiki-de differ quite a lot. and both even differ quite a lot to what is in openstreetmap. http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1377795111#map=19/60.13301/6.75402
Anybody here maybe, who knows the real coordinates? --Ziltoidium (talk) 06:24, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Google maps has a marker for Trolltunga at 60°07'51"N 6°45'16"E very near the English wiki article. Norgeskart.no, which is owned by the official Norwegian map service marks 60°7'57"N 6°45'26"E if one searches for the word Trolltunga, but the place looks too flat to be the exact spot. kart.gulesider.no has the best satellite photo and has 60°7'57"N 6°45'25"E for the name Trolltunga, same flat area as Norgeskart. Openstreetmap has 60°7'58"N 6°45'15"E. There are several photo spheres in google maps, some on Trolltunga, some outside, but they are a little contradictory. If you exclude those most divergent, and based on a photo sphere where I see a little lake, and the terrain contours, I should guess that the place is 60°7'57"N 6°45'14"E. But it is very possible that some suspicious formation at 60°7'49"N 6°45'13"E with another little lake nearby seen on kart.gulesider.no is the place. But everything here is a little original research. But the present en-wiki coords (60°07′51″N 6°45′15″E) are probably ok.--BIL (talk) 20:26, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Removed external links
editI removed the following links that linked to various personal blogs and YouTube videos, Norwegian newspaper articles etc, and only left links from Norwegian tourist organizations. The newspaper articles seemed completely random, and the personal sites/videos were probably added by the authors themselves. I don't see how they added much to the article. Some of the links may be useful for referencing information in the article, though.
