editMore impact. I can't find any impact in English sources, and the only Spanish source I could find is this. I think it has impact info, but I don't trust online translators enough to use this source. Could somebody help with this? Thanks, –Juliancolton | Talk 04:39, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Basically the Spanish report was the sixth and last warning after striking land in the northern part of Sinaloa, Mexico. The eye of the cyclone was inaccurately defined on October 26 2004 at 10:00 central time near 26.3 ° North latitude and 108.7 ° west longitude (on land), close by Mulanjey, Sinaloa. It was reported 25 km away southwest from El Fuerte, Sinaloa. It was moving north at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds near the eye at 35 km/h with gusts of 55 km/h. In the duration of the weak cyclone striking the area, humidity would spread into the state of Sinaloa, Durango and south western states beneath Sonora and Chihuahua. This would cause cloudiness with moderate to heavy rainfall in those areas. High winds between 30 to 50 km/h in northern Sinaloa and southern Sonora with high waves in the coastal zone would also occur in the specified area. The ongoing movement of the cyclone would cause cloudiness and high waves in the coastal region of Sinaloa and Sonora.
- Accumulated rainfall in the last 24 hours prior to report:
- The observatory of Culiacan, Sinaloa reports a rainfall of 179.8 mm.
- The observatory of Empalme, Sonora reports a rainfall of 59.6 mm.
- The observatory Tepehuanes, Durango reports a rainfall of 6.6 mm.
- Tropical cyclone weather for Wednesday:
The cyclone would have dispersed. The rest seems unimportant reports from states but I will translate if you wish. --ZooFari 05:37, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks! Really appreciate it. :) –Juliancolton | Talk 05:57, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Merge?
editArticle is really on the short side. Nothing mentioned here in the way of damage, and it's largely based on the TCR. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:52, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- @Hurricanehink: I just stumbled upon this three years after you posted it (lol) and I do agree, the article is only 7kb long, and the met. history and impact can easily fit inside the season summary. --MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 23:48, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yep, hah, sometimes articles just sit for years, and no one is sure what to do with it. The MH could be trimmed down a bit so the whole article could be merged. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:33, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
Revived discussion
editThe following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
I'm separating this from the older discussion. SMB99thx my edits 08:54, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support merge. Damages are minor, and no fatalities, and based on Hurricanehink's reasoning, this is mostly based on TCR. @Hurricanehink: BTW, I'm reviving your discussion here for the second time. SMB99thx my edits 08:50, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Destroyeraa: What's your opinion on this? SMB99thx my edits 08:50, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- Weak support Thing made landfall, but didn't do much damage. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 16:20, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. What about you, Chicdat? SMB99thx my edits 11:39, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- Weak support It can be mentioned in the season article that Sixteen-E made landfall, but the section would have to be quite long. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:41, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- This is probably expandable though I'm not 100% confident here. Please don't jump onto conclusions here, at least for now. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:33, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think this discussion should be extended for at least one more week or to the end of this month. SMB99thx my edits 09:12, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Comment See WT:WPTC#Merge discussions getting out of hand: moratorium proposal. I think we should step away from merges for 3-5 months, and focus on creating. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 12:53, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Neutral due to merge moritum. Otherwise would strongly support. --HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 23:47, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Support. This article fails WP:N as there is no significant coverage to warrant a stand alone article. Damages were minor and there were also no deaths reported. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 00:39, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
- Comment I would like to see the discussion being paused for now. We have to evaluate if this is expansion-worthy into probably GA-class article, or merge-worthy in the coming months, then close this discussion by the time moratorium ends. SMB99thx my edits 13:25, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Resume discussion when moratorium ends?
editOne key question to ask is; when the moratorium ends, do we want to resume the discussion or keep the article. It was paused, but do we want to restart it on February 23. I'm gonna say no on this one, but I am opening up the discussion for anyone to participate. I am pinging SMB99thx, Knowledgekid87, Chicdat, Destroyeraa, and Hurricanehink as previous participants in this discussion. --Hurricane Tracker 495 13:33, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- I'd leave it open informaly but I wouldn't place a {{merge}} tag or expect a quick resolution. YE Pacific Hurricane 16:49, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
- Fair. Letting people comment till 2/23/2021 at 034500 UTC. --Hurricane Tracker 495 23:24, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
