Why?
editI see no reason for this storm to have a separate article... — jdorje (talk) 22:57, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. Hurricanehink 23:01, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- I wrote it because it was requested at the Article request and you agreed that there should be a separate artice on this storm. Storm05 13:57, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- I only agreed because, at the time, I thought more information would have been available for a fuller article. That doesn't seem to be the case. I'll go back and revote for all articles. Hurricanehink 16:10, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- I replied to your revotes. Storm05 17:20, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- Also you did not revote all the storms you only revoted only the Alantic Storms from 1958 to 1999 and ignored the votes from the pre 1950 Atlantic storms, WPAC, EPAC and S. Hemisphere storms. Storm05 17:24, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- I replied to your revotes. I'll to the others later. Hurricanehink 17:30, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- I added damage totals Storm05 15:39, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Oh wow! I revoke my merge comment, and based on the damage this can stay. However, more is still needed. Hurricanehink 16:16, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. That's not enough damage and the article isn't that great. At least 15 dead and/or $300 million in damage is the threshold in my book. There are a couple storm articles that fail to meet that criteria but, then again, it's just my opinion. -- §HurricaneERIC§Damagesarchive 22:17, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- $294 million is close enough. The article isn't great, but there's always room for improvement. Hurricanehink 22:25, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

- Damn, it's that bad? J/K, but the article does need a lot of work. However, I think it is notable enough. Hurricanehink 01:06, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
<--- unindented... I'd like to think my copyedit(s) of this article went quite a way to improving it. NSLE (T+C)(seen this?) at 01:08 UTC (2006-04-12)
- Very true. It is much better than when first started, but I meant it needs more impact. Hurricanehink 01:16, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Once again, I'm most impressed with your work! As per our recent interaction, I did a copyedit (here's the diff). I have just a few suggestions/comments left for you, and then will obviously be happy to promote. :) Keilana|Parlez ici 23:00, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Your use of "decreased...increase...decreased" gets a bit repetitive in the first paragraph of MH.
- Changed :) ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- What advisories did the NHC initiate on September 10?
- I added a link. It's when the NHC first issued discussions, advisories, forecast positions, whatnot. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- K. (This is turning out to be an educational experience...we should have a meteorology-astronomy information exchange or something.) Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- Could you change "nearby ship reports indicated" to something like "nearby ships reported"? It's a bit awkward as it stands.
- I like it! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- In "such winds were not known", I'm not sure "known" is the best word choice (also goes for "the strongest winds known at the time". Maybe "observed"? Or is that inaccurate?
- That's inaccurate, actually. The winds were observed, but the NHC didn't know about them at the time. The agency often gets wind reports after the fact, which can alter how strong they thought the storm was. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Oh. Then carry on! Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- You wrote "In Saint Vincent, there was minor roof damage. In Dominica, the storm damaged roads and caused power outages." Did it hit either of those islands directly?
- Added in some location clarifications. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

- Could you specify which island you're talking about in "On the island, the combination of winds and heavy rains damaged..."?
- Giddy-up. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Um, fo sho? (Is that an appropriate response? :P) Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- When did Debby strike St. Lucia?
- "At 0300 UTC on September 10" - from the Met. history. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- <blush> Oops. Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- Would it be appropriate to change "Damage throughout Debby's path was heaviest on the island" to "...this island"?
- This works. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- The phrase "the effects from the storm affected" demonstrates a remarkable understanding of when to use "effect" and "affect". Nevertheless, it's awkward. :)
- Hahaha, oops. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- S'all good, at least you know the difference! Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- Were the two who died in Pont Saint-Jacques?
- Actually, I misread the source and fixed it. The four deaths on that island were from two landslides. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Landslides are bad. Correct information and sourcing are good. Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- Are there more specific numbers for the flood in Anse La Raye?
- I couldn't find anything. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- "Several places lost access" - more specific on "places"?
- "Towns" works. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Is there any estimate for how long it took the St. Lucian government to fix all the stuff Debby broke?
- Unfortunately, the damage was small enough that there weren't updates on fixing the damage (unlike a storm like Katrina, which remained in the news). --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Lame. ;) Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- Which half of the island had 4 in of precipitation?
- The NHC didn't say. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Where did the woman drown in the flooded river?
- Nothing beyond southern Martinique. Is that worth mentioning? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe, I just wrote down all the questions that crossed my mind while reading and this was one. Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

- "While Debby was moving across St. Lucia" and "While Debby was still active" feels a little redundant to me.
- Changed the second "while" to "when". --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- Did Debby hit Hispaniola as a tropical storm or as remnants?
- What about that sentence ("After Debby dissipated, its remnants maintained strong winds, and a station in the Dominican Republic reported a gust of 62 mph (100 km/h) on September 11") was confusing? Just curious... ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
- ...I think I printed a different version, 'cause I never read that. What you wrote is lovely and quite clear!

That's all, nice job! Keilana|Parlez ici 23:00, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

- I'm not concerned about more specificity with the woman in Martinique, so I'm going to promote. Thanks for making GAN reviewing pleasant and easy! Good luck at FAC! Keilana|Parlez ici 01:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
