Lack of notability

This article was created when it had an inherent lack of notability — made literally while it was still a tropical depression. This storm seems to lack a lot of coverage (besides meteorological sources) that would warrant an article. There's minimal information on impacts and what "preparation" exists is just standard preparation measures for most typhoons. This can easily fit in the season article. If there's no major improvement in the coming days, I'll be proposing a merge to move it back to the season article. Chlod (say hi!) 13:41, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Might just be me but I don't think this is a notable storm to create an article about. It threatened land, yes, but aside from that, the content of this article is lackluster at best and can easily just be merge to the season article. CycloneEditor (talk) 05:33, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Chlod, I agree with you, this article don't meet the criteria according to WP:NN so it shall be merged with the 2021 Pacific typhoon season. Beraniladri19 🌀🌀 05:58, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- No this article is definitely needed, this should not be merged, for example Cyclone Guambe had no dead toll reported and had minimal impact, but it was created HurricaneEdgar 06:37, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
- @HurricaneEdgar: It certainly didn't warrant notability on creation nor on first suggestion — and was moved to mainspace in complete violation of the notability guideline, mind you. Luckily, HurricaneParrot cleaned up the mess to his best ability, and this article can stand on its own now. As for your wording, please note that minimal impact (not the case here) and a zero-casualty toll (also not the case here) are smoking guns for a storm which lacks notability. My personal advice would be to stop creating drafts about storms mere minutes after formation. Without significance, something like this would be quickly redirected to the main article if in mainspace, or be barred from entering mainspace completely and left to expire in draftspace. - On another note, US$1 million is definitely not "minimal impact". Chlod (say hi!) 13:56, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

About Koguma in Thailand
editI found a newspaper (Vientiane Times) about this:
(The link is at https://www.vientianetimes.org.la/freeContent/FreeConten_Xayaboury116.php)
Xayaboury province is in need of emergency relief to help more than 5,200 households affected by flooding in the wake of tropical depression Koguma, which lashed several provinces from June 11-14. Households in 56 villages in seven districts of the province were affected and almost 20 houses were swept away by floodwaters, with Xayaboury district the hardest hit area. Total losses are estimated to be at least 94 billion kip.
Since the cause of damages in Xayaboury is described as the effect of Koguma, should we add it or nah? Just confused, sorry. 🌀HurricaneParrot🐦 06:11, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
I'll just add it, nevertheless. Kindly revert if wrong. :) 🌀HurricaneParrot🐦 06:16, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
