One thing that is not mentioned in the page is the surname Trotter being associated with the Italian surname Trotta. I don't know if it was common but my high school chemistry teacher's last name was Trotter, and he mentioned that his last name was originally Trotta, but one of his ancestors immigrated from Italy and got the surname changed to Trotter at Ellis Island.
