Based entirely upon Big Joe Williams?
editAfter listening to both, I don't hear "that Waters' version is based entirely upon Big Joe Williams' December 11, 1941 recording of Someday Baby." I checked a few references and have not been able to find anything to support this claim. Most references cite "Trouble No More" as another variant of Sleepy John Este's "Someday Baby" from 1935. In fact, Williams changes very little from Estes' version (even the title: Este's versions are titled "Someday Baby" or "Someday Baby Blues").
From the liner notes to a Mississippi Fred McDowell album: "Muddy Waters calls his "Trouble No More" and Big Maceo Merriweather titled his version "Worried Life Blues." Be that as it may, they all derived from Sleepy John Estes' 1935 classic "Someday Baby Blues." (A 1938 version from Estes "New Someday Baby" has slightly different lyrics, including using "trouble" instead of "worried" in the refrain, as does "Trouble No More"). If nobody responds after a while, I'll make the appropriate changes. Ojorojo (talk) 22:36, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
