This article has been written as a number of major manufacturers of solar isolators (DC switch disconnects) are all using the same terminology to describe the specific type of switch, specially designed for high voltage, solar photovoltaic applications.
The three companies mentioned in this article are all competitors of each other, and therefore the originator of this article felt that they weren't self-promoting.
