Fair use rationale for Image:Truro Bearcats.JPG

edit

Image:Truro Bearcats.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sidney Crosby

edit

Sidney Crosby has been listed as part of notable alumni. Crosby suited up for a pair of games after being drafted by the Bearcats as a 14 year old. Several articles have been published in the Truro Daily News about Crosby's connection to the Bearcats. Unfortunately the articles were published long before the Truro Daily News web site and therefore online links are unavailable for reference. Everywhere I look online I come up short for a solid reference. Recently, however, I dug up a forum post from 2003 that is a line for line quote of a Halifax Daily News article about Crosby. The article mentions Crosby being with the Bearcats! But I can't win here. No, the paper has since folded and the person quoting the article has left no link to the original article. So folks, this is obviously me pleading my case to allow Sid's name to remain on the Bearcat article. I'm sick and tired of him being removed and I'm sick and tired of having no solid evidence. This is my most recent attempt by citing the original forum post. Here's hoping someone can find an online article that I've missed or the Truro Daily News decides to do one again! Also hoping that person takes the time to read this before simply deleting Crosby from the list once again. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Browny 33tba (talkcontribs) 05:23, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I am going to remove him again... because we don't have solid proof. BUT... if you go to the Truro library, they probably have the newspapers you need to source his appearance with the team. Also, I will take this to the talk page of the Ice Hockey WikiProject and see if anyone can come up with something. DMighton (talk) 13:40, 14 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
