Tube-in-tube

edit

This pdf and this pdf mention tube-in-tube structures, as does the article on Diagonal Zero Zero. Any objections to adding it to the "variations" section? Yaris678 (talk) 19:10, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've added it. In the same edit, I put the bit about 780 Third Avenue into the new section because that seems to be an example of tube-in-tube to me. Yaris678 (talk) 14:04, 24 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Framed tube fatal flaw in World Trade Center ?

edit

In 9/11 I understand the framed tube integrity was compromised in both buildings, leading to their collapse. It would be good if the article discussed this either in terms of a design weakness since rectified or as a freak event unlikely to happen again. How would a modern tube structure react to a similar event ? Rcbutcher (talk) 09:23, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Tubes in lattice towers

edit

Tubes are also used in lattice towers as the Russian 3803 KM-towers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:DF:1F02:DD03:4D11:AC0C:9790:D428 (talk) 12:29, 4 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
