Bulb plant / bulbous plant

I believe "bulbous plant" is more correct than "bulb plant". According to Merriam Webster, bulbous is an adjective that means "growing from or bearing bulbs",[1] whereas bulb is a noun that means "a plant having or developing from a bulb",[2] in which case the word 'plant' would become redundant.
