Hello to everyone, I am the KToon director project and i am interested in to clarify that Toonka Films is really interested in to promoting the KToon Website. So, anyone is allowed to copy and paste in the wikipedia the text which we did put in our official website. Please, remove the infringement announcement and let that more people know about our project. Thank you.

Articles for Deletion debate

edit

This article survived an Articles for Deletion debate. The discussion can be found here. -Splash 22:55, 11 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I want to thank you for making KToon. Indeed it is a fantastic tool.

What's going on with KToon?

edit

It "looks" like the Ktoon project is dead. No links to their site work. If it is not dead, the people who have knowledge about what is happening are invited to share whatever they know, and update this article. If that is not possible, the article should reflect the factual observation that the project is ... no longer alive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.20.152.48 (talk) 17:36, 12 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Today I acesssed their website and it seems very alive — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.114.199.248 (talk) 14:17, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

New Name

edit

I don't know how to edit wikipedia well, but if anyone could update the article to it's new name, Tupi, that would be great. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.4.5.67 (talk) 02:57, 29 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

The License

edit

The actual License is "GPL terms (version 2+)" as the About Tupi webpage states, not "GNU General Public License v3" as is witten here.[1] It will be good to write down the right version in the info box also. Mokavey (talk) 18:46, 15 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

New Name (Last time)

edit

Hi, my name is Gustav Gonzalez. I am the developer of TupiTube (initially known as Ktoon and some years later as Tupi). As you already noticed the name of the project has changed three times. Now, the official and definitive name is TupiTube. We couldn't keep using the brand "Tupi" due to legal reasons, as this name belongs to an indigenous tribe from Brazil, therefore it can not be registered/used by any company/business according to regulations of the World Trade Organization. To avoid any possible conflict related to copyrights and branding issues, MaeFloresta (my company) has registered the TupiTube brand, so we won't have to change the name of the project anymore. Question: can we have some help from Wikipedia editors to change all the references of Tupi (Software) for TupiTube? We want to update the article too, but we would like to fix the name issue first. I really appreciate all your cooperation. My email is info at maefloresta.com, so please contact me either if you need to confirm any of this information. Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Xtingray (talkcontribs) 18:33, 14 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Missing citations for multiple claims

edit

I recently cleaned up the article by removing outdated links and adding information from Linux Magazine (also mentioned at Linux.com, but I didn't combine to avoid WP:SYNTH).

However, there is still a number of unsourced claims which make the article sound like an advert. @Xtingray do you know if Tupi or TupiTube was covered by a reliable source (for instance, a magazine, university website, etc.) which could be referenced in the article? Otherwise, I will have to remove all of the unsourced claims. SmallMender (talk) 20:11, 27 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Although the open source project is still active, there is no external references to support the history or the facts described in the article. As creator of TupiTube, I think that the Wikipedia page should be rewritten in the future. So far, feel free to remove all the references that have no sources. Many thanks for the feedback! I removed the bits without specific sources here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TupiTube&diff=prev&oldid=1237598071 SmallMender (talk) 15:37, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Addressed tone concerns

edit

@Adr28382 I recently polished the article and I think the added Wikipedia:Tone mark can be removed. I'm asking for feedback as I am fairly new here and don't want to remove maintenance templates without prior discussion :). SmallMender (talk) 15:43, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @SmallMender! I think its a great idea! I think we have removed all the ad like aspects of the article and it should now be neutral. So please continue on removing the mark! ;) Adr28382 (talk) 20:11, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Many thanks for support! I removed the template here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TupiTube&diff=prev&oldid=1237738465 SmallMender (talk) 07:09, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
