Okay, let me see to this GAN. PS this is my first time having a major GAN review.

Lead

  • ships were sunk by British cruisers in the Link cruisers here.
    • Linked in the preceding sentence.
  • Not long after the first pair arrived, they sank a British cruiser and an escort destroyer without loss or damage Do we know who both ships were?
    • Sure, but that's the point of a summary. I generally don't put actual ship names in the lede.
  • one ship helped to sink a Norwegian destroyer before escaping Same as above?
    • Yep.
  • and provided naval gunfire support to Axis forces and operations Maybe link Axis here.
  • One ship was sunk by the Soviets while supporting Link Soviets here.
  • Finnish operations in the Gulf of Finland in June Is there a wikilink to the Gulf of Finland's article?
  • The United States Navy briefly used one before turning it over to the French in 1947 Do we know what the Americans did with her before they gave it to the French?
    • Clarified.
  • The Soviet Union used their ship until about Maybe unlink the Soviet Union here?

Body

  • unhappy with the proposed Type 1938B-class destroyer in early 1939 Is there a link to the Type 1938B-class destroyer? Or is it a stay stunned in 2030? ;)
    • Nope, paper design only.
  • the Type 35 and Type 37 classes that specialized in torpedo attack --> the Type 35 and Type 37 classes were specialized in torpedo attacks?
  • for a speed of 33.5 knots (62.0 km/h; 38.6 mph). Unlink both km/h and mph.
    • I don't think that Americans are that familiar with km/h, nor Europeans with mph
  • By MOS:OVERLINK "e.g. units relating to currency, time, temperature, length, area, or volume. If both non-metric and metric equivalents are provided, as in 5 centimetres (2.0 in), usually neither unit needs to be linked, because almost all readers will understand at least one of the units." so I guess we shouldn't link them.
  • at a muzzle velocity of 785 m/s (2,580 ft/s) Link both m/s and ft/s.
  • Anti-aircraft defense was provided Link Anti-aircraft defense here.
  • pair of twin 80-caliber 3.7 cm (1.5 in) SK C/30 anti-aircraft (AA) gun You mean guns? No, the plural is in the following word.
  • gave the gun a ceiling of less than 6,800 metres (22,300 ft) British metres.
  • range was 8,500 metres (9,300 yd) at an elevation Again British metres.
  • delayed by shortages of labour and materials Britsh labour.
  • So we don't know when T22, T29 and T33 were laid down, or is there another reason?
    • Nobody says so, but I'm pretty sure that the records simply didn't survive the war.
  • they escorted Italian blockade runners Link Italian with the Kingdom of Italy's article.
  • deployed to the English Channel where Maybe link the English Channel because it is a long article?
  • Good point, you win this round.
  • runners arriving from Japan attempted Link Japan here with the Empire of Japan's article.
  • reduced the latter's speed; Korvettenkapitän Franz Kohlauf Is there a link for Franz Kohlauf and what is the English translation of Korvettenkapitän?
    • No article on Kohlauf.
  • where Athabascan had sunk to rescue survivors Do we know how many deaths there were? Also how many people survived?
    • Sure, but that information is in the relevant ship article. Remember that the class article is a distilled version of the all the ship articles with a lot of detail trimmed.
  • hit once by Iroquois and Iroquois was lightly damaged during the attack Do we know what or where on the Iroquois was damaged?
    • Belongs in the ship or battle article.
  • operations in East Prussian and Occupied Poland until May Maybe link Occupied Poland.

Part two

Infobox

Sources

  • The title of the book of Campbell has a little typo. It should be "Naval Weapons of World War Two" not "Naval Weapons of World War II".
  • Could you please translate the title of the book of Roche from French? Also, the ISBN doesn't exist on my screen.
    • Now that I can't help you with; it shows up just fine on my screen.
  • That's really odd. Is there not a second ISBN? Because some books have a second ISBN.
  • No, that's the only isbn for the book. When I click on it, it goes through to the Book sources screen just fine. So the problem must be on your end. Perhaps you might try restarting your browser?--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 01:02, 3 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • I restart multiple times my own browser, the results were terrible (nothing on my screen). I also tried on two other different browsers, all of them failed. So I decided to copy-paste the title of his book to my browser, this time it works. I think the browsers couldn't find the book via ISBN.
  • Why is there an "External links" section if it is empty?

Images

  • Looks fine.

Layout

  • No edit conflict.
  • No OR.
  • Good balance of its sections.
  • No typos.

That's it I hope they are useful for my first major GAN review. But its an excellently written article. Placing on hold for the above to be addressed. Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 20:10, 26 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

    • No, your comments were fine. You just need to get used to the differences between class and ship articles. Ship articles get a condensed description and very detailed operational history sections while class articles get the reverse.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:38, 30 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
