Type 97, 95, 93
editI believe the Type 93 torpedo ("Long Lance") was used by surface ships only. The standard submarine torpedo was the Type 95 torpedo. At least that is what their respective articles claim. The Type 91 torpedo was used by aircraft. The introduction says that the Type 97 was "based on the Type 97 used by other Japanese submarines", but should say "Type 95". I believe both the Type 95 and 97 used the same "oxygen wet-heater" engine as the Type 93, which brings some to claim they are "based on" the Type 93, but both were significantly smaller than the 24-inch diameter Type 93..45Colt 20:40, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
