Buck Karnes Bridge and UT RIROs in junction list
editWashuotaku, I'm trying to restore the Buck Karnes Bridge and the right-in/right-outs at UT Cherokee Farm to the junction list, but I can't figure out how since it was altered. If these features of the route are still correct, please restore them or let me know how to do so. Thanks. --Chaswmsday (talk) 00:57, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- So I do have a bias against bridges on junction lists, but I've added it back (in the newer format) as requested. As for the other junction I removed when updating, I'm not sure the importance of that when Cherokee Trails is nearby functioning mostly the same access. An additional entrance on-ramp isn't really a junction, but maybe I'm wrong here. --WashuOtaku (talk) 01:29, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, "junction list" isn't the most apt name if it includes bridges, but that's what the project has at Template:Jctint/testcases. The bridge template seems to want to place the river over with the counties and locations, but since this crossing is fully within Knoxville and Knox County, I just went ahead and "gamed" the bridge parameter.
- I included the other access points because of the controlled-ish access, "RIRO expressway"/"Jersey freeway" nature of that portion of the road, which is still kind of unusual and notable in the U.S. It even includes a grade-separated turnaround! I'm not sure if it's worth locking down any mile markers for those, or just including a range, as some junction/exit lists do... --Chaswmsday (talk) 08:01, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
- Now you see why I'm not a big fan of bridges, gaming it is the best choice, I agree. I also don't like the "no junction" county choice, not helpful if you have a road that straddles a county in-and-out several times. To keep it cleaner in the mileage chart, I typically pick a point in the middle and use that instead of a range, but I'll leave that up to you. --WashuOtaku (talk) 14:19, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Yes - SR 115 should be merged with US 129 since it is an exact overlap. We can use the template done by U.S. Route 23 in Tennessee in the same way for this route for US 129. --WashuOtaku (talk) 22:49, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
