Is there a reason for the route shields in the text? It looks rather tacky and pointless. Also, why is this being tagged as a Nascar stub? --SPUI (talk) 00:38, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- Route sheilds look good. NASCAR stub is simiple, it has a lot of ties to NASCAR and the history of NASCAR. US 220 also has many ties to racing beyond just NASCAR. ----71Demon 15:43, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- If that's the case, why not change it to motorsport-stub instead of just a NASCAR stub?--D-Day 19:42, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
How about a routebox? That may cleanup a lot of this mess. Do we really need to cover EVERY SINGLE county the highway goes through? The states should be enough. Unfortunately, this is a really long route. --TinMan 20:38, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Obviously we need not list every county, otherwise it would be noted that the New York Terminus is in Tioga County, enters Pennsylvania via Bradford County, then proceeds through Sullivan County, Lycoming County, etc. (If you would like the rest, do what I did. Look it up on a website which offers road maps.)
Subpages
This article is badly in need of subpages to separate the states, a la U.S. Route 30. And it needs a good copyedit for tone. —Rob (talk) 21:26, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Browsebox
I removed the US 711 row from the browsebox. Feel free to add it back if you'd like, but I removed it for a couple of reasons. First, it just looks awkward to plunk a shield in the middle column where we normally have state postal abbreviations. Second, many state WikiProjects are moving away from including redirected routes in their browsing orders. -- NORTH talk 22:41, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- I understand the reasons for removing the 711 row (admittedly, I felt awkward adding it in the first place). But, until consensus shows otherwise at WP:PASH, decommissioned redirect routes are part of the browse. (This is also true for WP:NYSR and WP:VR.) This is a unique case, though, as this is a multi-state route with multiple numbers. For that reason, I can look the other way when it comes to US 711. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 16:28, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Virginia "Break Out"
Can someone remove the information about U.S. Route 311's former routing in Virginia to the history section? Also, any other historical information should be put there, as well.
