U.S. Routes in National Parks
editI don't think Trail Ridge Road is technically U.S. 34 through the park; I was under the impression that U.S. Routes don't exist in National Parks. —Rob (talk) 19:13, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
National Parks vary in this regard. US-34 signage does exist in Rocky Mountain National Park. On the other hand, I believe the US highway designations disappear in Yellowstone National Park, among others.

- When I drove the Trail Ridge Road in 2004, I saw no markers of US 34 at all on it, but I did see a sign designating directions of US 34 and US 36 where the terminus of US 36 is (in the park) --• master_sonLets talk 13:30, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
Merge of Red Bull Highway (Iowa)
editA proposal was made to merge the Red Bull Highway (Iowa) article into the Interstate 35 article. Since the designation in Iowa applies to US 34, I feel the merger correctly should be to here.
The article in question is a stub mentioning that the 34th Infantry is the Red Bull Division and explaining that as the honoree of the named highway. —C.Fred (talk) 17:52, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's probably better to create a detail page (U.S. Route 34 in Iowa) and redirect to that. —Rob (talk) 22:16, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
For what it's worth, I've lived in Southwest Iowa all my life, and have never heard anyone or seen anything calling it the 'red bull highway'. --24.252.10.228 07:10, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Toll Road thru Rocky Mountain National Park?
editI realize you have to pay the National Park Service if you go to a National Park, but I'm not sure that Trail Ridge Road qualifies as a toll road, at least in the traditional sense, because you can make multiple visits within a given time frame. DandyDan2007 10:35, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
