I have never heard of this narrow definition. In the maritime field a coastal state is any state with a coast, for example Australia, Pakistan and Chile.

Map Colors

Noteworthy?

Is this article actually noteworthy? It seems to consist of nothing other than somebody looking at a map of the United States and coloring the states that touch the ocean or Great Lakes. Geoffrey.landis (talk) 20:52, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Connecticut Does Not Touch the Atlantic Ocean

Connecticut does not front the Atlantic Ocean. There are territorial waters of the states of Rhode Island and New York between CT. and the ocean. Connecticut's coast is on the Long Island Sound. Mwikichapedeial (talk) 12:42, 28 November 2017 (UTC)
