If you're looking to work on this article, some things it's missing that I was interested in: when is it held? where is it held? how long is it? is it a 1-day event? is it a flat course? how long does it take to finish? When and where will the 2004 race take place?

Track/sprint
editDoes not belong here but on Track cycling. I've removed Koichi Nakano and commented out the country win list since it seems to include track titles (contrary to what is mentioned). I'll recount the titles shortly. Piet | Talk 10:40, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- If track events are not included in this article then the title "World Cycling Championship" is wrong. Either "World Cycling Championship" should be changed to "World Road Cycling Championship" or "World Cycling Championship (Road Race)", or the article should include all World's events. - The article currently is about the Road Race. In my country World Cycling Championship will always refer to the Road Race, like Tour de France will refer to the men's road event and not to the women's or mountainbike event. If this is the case in most countries it would be acceptable to leave the page as it is.
- If anyone wants to include track racing, then it's not enough to add some numbers to the infobox and list, then the event has to be described in the text as well. This seems like a very bad idea to me, as the events have very little to do with each other. Better make a separate page (it doesn't seem to exist yet). Piet | Talk 12:03, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
History of the U23 ?
editAnyone know of the history of the U23 races? Maybe it's up on the French/German/Italian wikipedia? I remember Jan Ulrich won it years back. --Smilo Don 21:41, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Here you can find some info in french(usually top3 of each competition): memoire-du-cyclisme.net. I hope that helps!-Drunt 22:06, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- That site would give us the outline for the main page for most years events which would be cool. IIRC, U23 was introduced when professional and amateur were merged to become elite - U23 essentially replaced the amateur category (this must be 1996?). SeveroTC 23:06, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Got it going from Wikipedia/France. Still needs formatting, but I have to go to bed. Nice to have those medals up, though. --Smilo Don 03:44, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Split this article in other articles
editSo I was wondering if we should split this article into something like:
- UCI Road World Championships, Men or UCI Road Race World Championships, Men
- UCI Time Trial Championships, Men
- UCI Road World Championships, Women (already splitted)
- ... + plus junior & u-23
It's just a bit weird to have all this lists of winners on the same article. All of them could be linked from UCI Road World Championships and each one of those pages could have its own infobox and some text. My two cents. Drunt (talk) 23:10, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
