1992 Football Championship squad

Rasmus Gravesen of Denmark has sent an e-mail to me throught the help desk claiming that there is an error in our article. I quote: "The article, where I found the error, is the one dealing with the 1992 European Football Championships. In this article, there is listing of all the players in Denmark's winning squad. Player number 8 on this list is Jan Mølby. Yet Jan Mølby was not included in the squad. Instead, it was a much less known player named Johnny Mølby who wore jersey number 8 at the European Championships that year. This is probably of interest only to very few people. Yet being from Denmark myself, I couldn't help notice it and I thought you should know."

It is correct that it was not Jan Mølby, but Johnny Mølby who took part in Euro 92. (I think they are cousins.) I don't know about the jersey. LR

Michael Laudrup's absense from Euro 92

I am reasonably sure that Michael Laudrup's absense was due to the fact that he and his brother had for a period of time refused to play for the national team because they felt that coach Richard Møller Nielsen was not up to the job. Laudrup didn't rejoin the team until 1993. LR

That is also the version I know - as described in the 1996 Michael Laudrup biography by Jacob Kvist (page 154-158); both Jan Mølby, Brian Laudrup and Michael Laudrup quit the national team following the November 1990 loss to Yugoslavia, because of Richard Møller Nielsen's defensive tactics. Møller Nielsen then deployed more defensive midfielders (like John Jensen and Henrik Larsen) and coached the team to victory in the remaining five games, and Brian returned before the warm-up games for the Euro 92. Well, it might be all true. But I clearly remember the inteview he gave before the Euro 92 in which he explicitely claimed that he would not play for the Danish national team for moral reasons. The interview was broadcasted several times on Yugoslav national TV, and Michael Laudrup was later praised as a moral icon and almost a national hero here in Yugoslavia. I was 22 back then, I can clearly remember it. But I cannot produce the footage :( So, this is not untrue or false, it is very much true. But cannot be sourced except from people's memory. The Yugoslav TV was, as you all "Europeans" might remember, heavily bombed in May 1999 and was burnt down to the ground. No cartoons or "Survival" educations shows were rescued, not to talk about the old footage. Zika

The flag as given for the Commonwealth of Independent States here is wrong. As far as I can remember, it did not exist at the time, and the CIS team used a white flag with the blue letters CIS. John Anderson 13:08, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

CIS Euro 92 flag

On Euro 92 CIS had an unique flag.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to change it in article (I'm not a programist - my IT knowlege is poor, very poor...)
