An editing joke?
editMain Card
Lightweight Championship bout: BJ Penn (c) vs. Didier Drogba[1]
I'm putting Diego Sanchez back in the card.
Well somebody else did so before I got to it.

Imaginary Bout?
editThere's nothing about Nog vs Kharitonov in the link provided, or anywhere on the web, for that matter. Senor Vergara (talk) 01:58, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Jackson vs Evans Pulled?
editI read tho its not officially stated that the fight was called-off, i dont see UFC allowing them to get out of a contracted fight even if it meant exposure. Are we gunna leave it on until, its offical from UFC or a UFC rep. ? (Punisher88 (talk) 07:23, 5 September 2009 (UTC))
- Especially since the fight is to coincide with the newest TUF? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Punisher88 (talk • contribs) 07:24, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- The original story came out of MMABay... which is horribly unreliable, but it was independently confirmed by The Sun as well. That makes it seems a little more likely. --Drr-darkomen (talk) 07:27, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Naw i'll take your word for it but, it just seems like it wouldnt happen especially when the fight was contracted, I bet we hear Dana White either Veto this big time and pay quinton a lil more dough or love it which is a shame. I wanted to see quinton bang it out with Rashad since, for some quinton reason despises him. (Punisher88 (talk) 07:29, 5 September 2009 (UTC))
- If 'Page was already contracted I have a hard time believing that Dana would let him walk away. If he wasn't yet contracted for the bout then I can see Dana getting burned and talking smack on Rampage in the future. Personally I hope it comes out within the next few days that The Sun got the story wrong. But at the moment that seems to be the most recent piece of info available. --Drr-darkomen (talk) 07:32, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, so i guess we leave until further notice?, yeah man that would be a shame, we dont need another tito-dana fued going on lol—Preceding unsigned comment added by Punisher88 (talk • contribs) 07:35, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- I seen on the fight network that rampage was 'leaving the ufc' So i don't think they are rescheduling until he comes back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.220.188.154 (talk) 17:53, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
UFC 107 Problems Part 2
edit^ Sounds like there is even more problems with this event as you see.So this event Might be pulled.Notice I said Might (because it might now) because Rampage had to go and fuck everything up.I say we should keep an eye on this event.--Forrestdfuller (talk) 03:57, 18 September 2009 (EST)
- That be a shame because, this is a pretty stellar card. Jackson did mess up big time and this may affect all his business doings in the future. I bet he comes back at some point though because, hes not making the same change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Punisher88 (talk • contribs) 04:44, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Kimbo/Alexander
editWhy does this fight keep getting deleted from the "announced" section? A source has been cited, but the fight keeps getting deleted as soon as someone posts it. JimG520 (talk) 15:25, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Two main reasons:
- 1) The fights announced section clearly states: These matches have been reported as finalized by reliable sources, while the title of the Kimbo source even said POSSIBLE FIGHT.
- 2) Numerous reports from reliable sources have come out saying that Kimbo will likely fight at the TUF 10 Finale (including this one today http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/atts-davis-teaching-kimbo-control-patience-20407). Kimbo even stated in an interview he would fight then and we all know UFC doesn't schedule the same fighter a week apart...(Justinsane15 (talk) 03:22, 21 October 2009 (UTC))
Mir / Kongo
editMir won by guillotine, not rear naked choke. and shouldn't it be a TKO instead of a submission since Kongo did not tap? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.99.75.226 (talk) 04:57, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Kongo didn't tap because he was KO'd...what's technical about that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Haamerhed (talk • contribs) 05:22, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
By the rules of MMA most commonly followed (the ones set forth by NJ State Athletic Board), a submission requires a verbal or a physical signal of giving up (stating "i submit", or physically "tapping out"). Since Kongo did not appear to do either, you cannot really call it a regular submission. Not a KO because no strikes brought him to the canvas. I feel it should be a TKO or some sort of new designation of what the decision of the ref was. The phrase "technical submission", as used in the article at this point in time, seems to sufficiently describe the circumstance present in this bout. 24.177.11.244 (talk) 06:56, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Choke Type
editDemarque Johnson's choke on Edgar Garcia was a Peruvian Necktie, not a Triangle. It was identified as such by colour commentator Joe Rogan at the time. The choke is executed most commonly from turtle top, which was where the fight finished. Triangles are performed from mount or, more commonly, guard. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.175.217.234 (talk) 14:48, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
