The Navy press release clearly states "... announced that the Pathfinder-class oceanographic survey ship formerly named USNS Maury (T-AGS 66) has been renamed USNS Marie Tharp (T-AGS 66)". So why should be there any doubt in this case? --GDK (talk) 15:06, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
There probably isn't any doubt about what USN says. But that is not the point. WP ≠ USN; Wikipedia has its own policies to be respected, one of which is to seek consensus in discussion (and here following the WP:BRD cycle). Davidships (talk) 16:54, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
