Commanding Officers Section
editI just restored the Commanding Officers section which I originally added. This list was removed by a prior editor with a reason of "no reference provided". The reference for this information is the Welcome Aboard pamphlet given to visitors. Many other facts are on this page without specific reference noted either. If there is some other reason for removal, let's discuss it on this page prior to making a blanket deletion.--64.126.51.212 (talk) 01:14, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- I just realized I was not logged in when I made the comment above and the related edit. I'll vouch the above comment and reference were made by me.--P Todd (talk) 01:16, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- The removal was blanket because not every commanding officer is inherently notable and this is not a webpage just listing every single piece of information about the ship, for that the sub's officers can do that if they wish on their own bandwith. Also, I do not believe that a pamphlet provided can be properly cited in accordance with our policies. Accordingly until a proper citation can be provided that meets all of our policies I have removed the section. Please do not restore it until such criteria can be properly met. Please bring this up at WT:SHIPS if you disagree. -MBK004 03:57, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
- True that every commander individually is not notable . . that is why each commander does not have their own wiki page. To have their own wiki page, they would need to be notable. I believe it is; however, notable who the commanders of a ship have been. I will bring this up at WT:SHIPS. The reason you deleted was because you did not believe I provided a reference that is in accordance to our (I'm one of the "our's" too) policy. I provided such a reference. I could provide you with a physical copy if you so desire. Then you bring up a totally different reason, that of notability. I will raise it in the other location and get a second opinion as to why these fine men should not be recognized.--P Todd (talk) 04:44, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
