There are serious date discrepencies between the 3rd and 4th paragraphs and they need to be corrected.

I was born in 1953. I came to Canada in Aug. 1954 on the ship Seven Seas, a converted aircraft carrier. As far as I know this is the Long Island. I have doubts about the name Nelly and your other dates. What I learned about the Seven Seas is that it wound up as a youth hostel in Rotterdam.AvHistoryGuy (talk) 03:29, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Silverstone's U.S. Warships of World War II p.52 indicates Long Island became the mercantile Nelly in 1949 and then Seven Seas in 1953. Thewellman (talk) 06:59, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
A more accurate rendition of her post-carrier role and in particular the dates is given in http://www.ssmaritime.com/sevenseas.htm. It confirms her name as Nelly and her subsequent refit as the Seven Seas. There are great pictures as well.AvHistoryGuy (talk) 20:58, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
