Interesting Althof source

edit

I added the Althof source to cite the atlantic delivery flight, but I just read page 35 and it has details on the radio and electrical equipment on board, call sign NERM, page 40 has a detailed log, and so on, if anyone cares to expand the article:

  • Althof, William F. 2004. USS Los Angeles: The Navy's Venerable Airship and Aviation Technology. ISBN 1574886207. Brassey's. Google books extract

Questionable conclusion

edit

"The Los Angeles took part in Fleet Problems XII (1931) and XIII (1932), although as was the case with all U.S. Navy rigid airships, demonstrated no particular benefit to the fleet." This is complete bullcrap. At the very least, AKRON and MACON demonstrated the capability of visually sweeping more square miles per day (by employing airplanes carried on board), on a longer path, than any surface vessel or airplane. Incorrect photograph

edit

The photograph in the article that supposedly shows the ZR-3 over Berlin is actually the Graf Zeppelin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.61.34.18 (talk) 00:03, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Operational history

edit

According to this book: United States Naval Aviation, 1919-1941: Aircraft, Airships and Ships Between the Wars, page 246, LZ-126 went to Puerto Rico, not Costa Rica. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.109.155.85 (talk) 23:23, 28 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
