When the USS Tern (AM-31) was named there was already a ship by that name. That ship was renamed the USS SP-871. The ship was re-designated ATO142 and we need to move ship renaming and re-designating up in articles for ease of identity. Another source besides NANFS is USS Tern, Minesweeper No. 31; ATO142.
