USS William Bacon (1863) → USS William Bacon – While USS Lovering (DE-39) was named for William Bacon Lovering, that ship doesn't seem to have ever been known as the "William Bacon". There doesn't seem to have been any other William Bacons in US Navy service, so the disambiguation is not needed, and at any rate, I can't figure out from the article content where the (1863) is coming from. - Move to USS William Bacon. Cannot find any other US ship with that name, so no need for disambiguation. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 10:32, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support per above. Agree that from the page content 1863 seems inaccurate, if anything the ship has roots in 1862. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:58, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
