Toponyms
[edit]Hi Web-wiki-warrior, I've moved the discussion to here as you suggested . Would you be opposed to the addition of the Romanian toponym if I cited a source with it? And the reason I mentioned that 20% of Ukraine is occupied is because if we're not to preserve non-Ukrainian historical toponyms in Ukraine, we shouldn't keep Ukrainian ones outside of Ukraine under the same argument, and if the status of Ukraine's occupied territory changed, I would start enforcing the practice you prefer to maintain balance. But I think it is better to maintain historial toponyms like it is done across Eastern European articles. Super Ψ Dro 12:24, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

- You make/made changes at this point, but until now you didn't provide any links/sources about the Romanian toponym. At the same time until now you didn't provide any links/sources when (time period) and by whom the Romanian toponym was used. In this context, I wanted to ask you: why do you want to mention a Romanian toponym for the village Udobne in the english article? It has been already mentioned on Wikipedia in the romanian article about the village. According to your logic, a Chinese or Indian toponym of the village could also be mentioned in the article.

- I can repeat my mention as I did it already before (see ) ... I can't follow you at this point. The point in my opinion has nothing to do with the subject of "Romanian toponym of the village Udobne".
- Example regarding toponyms:
- Let's take Ukrainian city Lviv. There was a time when this city was controlled by the Habsburg monarchy. Under the Habsburgs the main official language was German. Thus the german name of the city was Lemberg. So in the case it is clear that the german name/toponym (Lemberg) can be problem-free mentioned in the english Wikipedia article about Lviv. But if we take the case of Udobne, then I have not yet found any sources where this area was either controlled by Romania, or where Romanian was mainly spoken in the area.
