Assessment
editI assessed this as 'high' importance (2nd highest) cos of its huge impact in increasing U2's profile - but maybe it only deserves a 'mid' importance. I will leave it as 'high' until someone else convinces the community otherwise. Merbabu 04:03, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Recording location of Gloria and Party Girl
editI'm pretty sure that "Gloria" and "Party Girl" were recorded at Red Rocks, which is close to but not in Denver, unlike material for "Rattle and Hum", which was recorded at McNichols Arena in Denver. This source (http://www.discogs.com/U2-Live-Under-A-Blood-Red-Sky/release/1341856) indicates that these songs were recorded on June 5, 1983, and this source (http://www.u2gigs.com/show459.html) makes clear that that concert was at Red Rocks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rks13 (talk • contribs) 23:52, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- The concert was at Red Rocks, but the liner notes credit the recording location as Denver. Y2Kcrazyjoker4 (talk • contributions) 13:13, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
- Technically Red Rocks isn't located in Denver (which is about 15 minutes away), but Denver was just used as it's the closest major city to the venue. During "Gloria", you can hear Bono mention Red Rocks, which further states it was recorded there. Also a source in U2 Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky confirms this. –Dream out loud (talk) 05:36, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- I'm aware of where Red Rocks is, I'm just trying to adhere to the same language used in the liner notes. Denver does own and operate the amphitheatre, FYI, even though is is near Morrison. Y2Kcrazyjoker4 (talk • contributions) 05:51, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- The question is whether what the article should use information that is more accurate but different from what's listed in the liner notes. I prefer to list it as Red Rocks, but I don't feel strongly about it. Rks13 (talk) 17:14, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm not sure what the answer to that one is. I guess we go with what's most accurate as long as there is a source. Y2Kcrazyjoker4 (talk • contributions) 18:39, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
