reference to DSTO

edit

The following introduces the term DSTO without prior/post reference nor link nor definition nor quotation? I could assume what DSTO might refer to, however there are 2 countries that have DSTO in the Wiki disambiguation(and that's assuming even one of those was the one intended by the author)....:

"The US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has developed its own unidirectional network called the Network[16] Pump. This is in many ways similar to DSTO's work" DNSLOC (talk) 06:55, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

IMO the article was a bit spammy, therefore I took out the spammy bits. I don't believe that they add anything to the article, but I am open to argument. Springnuts 11:36, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

One of the key things about unidirectional networks is that there's a set of failure modes which result in data loss. It's not possible to 100% guarantee delivery of data. There are solutions which improve availability in the face of data loss. The article doesn't discuss this (but should). 86.128.161.60 (talk) 15:09, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hopefully all that read this article understand that unidirectional networks and the data diode concept does not promote security, as it clearly does not make any provisions for data integrity. Overall, the current revision of this article is much better than previous revisions that were clearly pumped up by the marketing teams of the 1 or 2 vendors that actually manufacture data diodes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.214.215.153 (talk) 23:28, 17 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Unidirectional network. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Linked blog likley SPAM

edit

The linked blog at the end of the article ( colinrobbins.me/category/data-diode/ ) shows little relevance to the topic and should therefore be considered as SPAM and removed 80.121.81.227 (talk) 09:23, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I thought so too. Done. Thanks. ★NealMcB★ (talk) 17:56, 23 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Example uses: needs citations

edit

That long list of uses for data diodes is almost without citations and I don't see why many of the uses "video streaming" needs these systems

They should all be tagged as needing citations and maybe some of them actually culled SteveLoughran (talk) 16:12, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
