Merger
editIt's been suggested that Unification Church and Unification movement be merged. This makes sense to me because each article says that they are two names for the same thing. The issue I see is that the resulting article would be a bit long since this article focuses on the history of the UC and the other on its different branches and parts.PopSci (talk) 19:49, 15 July 2018 (UTC)
- If they are merged it would probably be good to trim the movement article down to a list of only the notable departments and related organizations of the UC.PopSci (talk) 15:24, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
- I'm suggesting a redirect of the movement article, and a "see also" type section of links to notable organizations within and related to the UC here. PopSci (talk) 16:57, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
I think the movement article has a better lead, and the rest can be copied in to this articles, if needs to be reduced we can do that organically later on, otherwise you risk losing sourced information without discussion. Furthermore if they do not describe themselves as a church surely they should be a movement, and also if a Church is just a branch of a wider activity and structure then the article should be called movement.Abcmaxx (talk) 11:16, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
- "Unification Church" is by far the most common name. BTW "church" originally meant a group of people sharing a common belief, not an organization. However if calling the merged article "Unification Movement" is the consensus I will go along with that.PopSci (talk) 15:47, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
