Rename
editMeridian (Amtrak station) → Union Station (Meridian, Mississippi) — I think this page should be moved to Union Station (Meridian, Mississippi) or renamed Meridian Multi-Modal Transportation Center. Citizens of the city call the station Union Station, and its official name is Meridian Multi-Modal Transportation Center. Also, the general format of naming disambiguated Wikipedia articles is "NAME OF SITE (CITY, STATE(if necessary))," not "LOCATION (NAME)"... Comments? --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 17:36, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- Obviously no one else cares... can this be moved? I need an admin to do it since the redirect already exists. --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 17:51, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
- I moved it myself. I wasn't aware that I had that power. --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 20:14, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
- Good call. In general i think a non-admin can move over a redirect, if there has only been one edit at the redirect. If there have been multiple moves or edits, it takes an admin. And, about railroad stations, I believe the practice is as you reasoned out here, that if there is a specifically named NRHP-listing name or otherwise noted name of a place, that can and should over-rule the railroader-oriented "Town (railroad station)" construction (a construction that always seems very odd to me, i guess it is like reading from a railroad timetable). --doncram (talk) 02:52, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
