Copyright violation
editPlease do not move and paste the prose deleted from the man page here. It is still a copyright violation. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 15:25, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
Re:Violation
editSo you're the Admin on Wikipedia I am guessing?
I sent a request to the owner of one of the organization Directors to confirm the usage of the content as per Wikipedia Guidelines, I have a screenshot of the email, How is this still copyright since the guidelines are provided here as well? 197.185.98.39 (talk) 15:43, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- @197.185.98.39: Don't guess, look at it with the blue "Check user groups" link on the left of my user pages. If the copyright holder is prepared to release the prose under a free license, that means anyone can use it for anything, they have to either post a free licence notification on that online page or verify it through our OTRS system which requires they fill in a consent form to verify it. Screenshots and forwarded emails are not acceptable. BTW, there you did not add a screenshot in your post and their website has a clear "All rights reserved" notice at the bottom of their pages. ww2censor (talk) 18:30, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- @ww2censor The OTRS system the request was done and sent via email permissions-en@wikimedia.org what I meant about the screenshot is that I requested them for approval to use their content and they gave me a reply stating that they did authorize it by OTRS system via the same mentioned email address that's all I am trying to say because I seem to be getting different stories please don't blame me for guessing cause I feel like I have followed the instructions but I keep getting msgs or comments like yours so I am just tired of Explaining I guess.197.185.103.69 (talk) 09:46, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- I can confirm that a ticket has been received, closed successfully and is referenced at the top of this page. You can stop guessing now. ww2censor (talk) 16:01, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
