Talk:Union of UEA Students
the no platform campaign was an important issue as was really founded by the student body at UEA. If you think it needs editing please feel free to do so rather than just deleting it. 139.222.224.38 (talk) 18:56, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

List of artists that have played
editWhy does anybody consider this list even remotely encyclopedic? Maybe I'd grant that a list of artists at Woodstock is, but I don't see it in this case. —C.Fred (talk) 21:50, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Don't delete the page
editGranted, the list of bands that have played in the venue on campus doesn't belong here, and I agree, should go. However, there is a lot of other content on this page apart from the list of bands which I think shoud remain. There are whole sections on democratic process, and deleting the page on the basis of an item that, before the list was added, is simply one line, gets rid of a lot of the good stuff on this page.
In terms of this organisiation, it has 14,000 members, plays a huge role in the life of the campus community (including lobbying and feeding into UEA's structures, which has an impact on the way in which the university runs) and also on local issues in the city of Norwich and also on the national stage (for example, lobbying the UK government not to introduce "top-up" fees, from which the combined pressure of the UK student unions nearly made Tony Blair's then-strong majority lose in 2003 (they only won by three votes)). Student Unions across the UK have pages much like this.
In short, deleting this page would be a short-sighted move. Help improve it, rather than hit that delete button! Reenie56 12:20, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've removed the speedy delete tag because I think that the article asserts that it is a notable organisation. If the concern is whether the organasiation truly is notable, that's a matter for an AfD discussion; it's outside the realm of speedy deletion. —C.Fred (talk) 19:08, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
