Street Map
editThe mapquest.com link http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=43.9decimal&latitude=-79.575&longitude=&zoom=6 doesn't work. I don't know enough about the longitude coordinates to correct. Piepants 03:38, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Piepants
I have changed it to a street designation that does work - however longitude and latitude would be nicer if someone could specify correct parameters. Also the aerial photograph doesn't work - not sure if this facility works for Canada. Jpaulm 12:24, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Exposition
editUnionville is not in all of Ward 3. Unionville is like its own town. It has many neighborhoods: Olde Unionville Village, South Unionville Village, Berczy, Angus Glen, Cachet, Cathedraltown, John Button Community(Buttonville), Victoria Square plus many hamlets such as Cachel and Almira. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unionvillian (talk • contribs) 05:17, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Unionville is not all in Ward 3. Unionville is in the City of Markham and has many neighbourhoods including Angus Glen, Berczy Village, Cachet, Victoria Square, South Unionville, John Button (nicknamed Buttonville), and the Olde Unionville Village. There is still farmlands in the Unionville Hamlets of Almira and Caschel. Just like Scarborough which is part of the City of Toronto which has many neighbourhoods including Milliken, L'Armoreau, Scarborough Village, Dorset Park, Agincourt, etc. (March 22,2013)
It amazes me to see articles about DISTRICTS within suburban GTA municipalities that are written as if they were still real towns.
Agreed. I'm not even sure where exactly Unionville starts and ends, and I live right by it. Piepants 19:31, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Piepants
Also, Unionville is not surrounded by farmland on all sides, I'm not sure where this is coming from, unless it's supposed to be harking back to an older time, in which it would be out of context in that section. Also, Markham is still technically a town, so a "DISTRICT" in it is very worthwhile to mention and obviously should still be written about as such. User:mitkat June 20 2006
Actually, I wasn't thinking of Markham's town status (I don't see it as one) when I wrote 'district', as cities have districts as well. A.L.70.24.71.154 05:46, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
PART OF WARD 3 IS IN MARKHAM'S MARKVILLE COMMUNITY AND IS NOT AT ALL PART OF UNIONVILLE!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.146.111.37 (talk) 06:52, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- There is no such thing as a Markville community - it is a shopping mall. Will you please stop trying to bypass the article's semi-protection, or register yourself with WP so we can start a civilized discussion. Thanks. Jpaulm (talk) 20:58, 31 December 2012 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:MarkhamLogo.gif
editImage:MarkhamLogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Spelling error : "old Unionville Congreational Church" should be " . . . Congregational Church"
editCongreational should be changed to Congregational

Content dispute
editAs it's an edit war between unreferenced statements in the article maybe these should just be removed until references can be found. Peter James (talk) 15:10, 15 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Peter, it's a bit more complicated than that! I am a member of the Unionville Villagers' Association (UVA), and their historian and I hashed out an article that he (and I) were happy with, so I call that the "approved" version. This person disagrees with the information in that article, but refuses to come and sit down with the UVA and discuss matters, despite being invited a number of times. He also has violated WP etiquette constantly over more than a year, creating sock puppets (plural - although the second one may not be at the same IP address, but it contains the same claims), and in one case tacking a '2' on my user ID - that caper nearly got him banned for impersonation as well as sockpuppetry! So I am happy with the current approved version, and really don't mind if it never gets changed again! It was getting to the point where it was a race to see who got tired first ... and I suspect I'm older than he is! :-) Anyway, that's my story - and many thanks to CambridgeBayWeather and Versageek for their help with this difficult situation! Jpaulm (talk) 02:14, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
- PS He's changed a number of articles about surrounding communities as well, but I don't have the energy to go digging into them as well! Jpaulm (talk) 02:14, 16 October 2013 (UTC)
