edit1) THE SJM "hardliners" undet Baburam Bhattarai never renamed itself as the NKP(Maobadi)!
2) The SJM (Bhattarai) continued to exist until febnruary 2000. THEN it was dissolved, because the NKP(Maobadi) found out that it could not make it into the broad united front that the party wanted.
3) It was the SJM(Bhattarai) that formally launched the Jana Yudda (Peoples War) in february 1996, by sending a letter with 40 demands to (then) prime minister Debua from the Congress Party. The letter said that if these demands were not fulfilled, the SJM would have to start a peoples war.
4) The organisastion that renamed itself as the NKP(Maobadi) was the Prachanda wing of the NKP(Ekda Kendra), the "leading party" of the SJM.
5) The NKP(EK) (Prachanda) didnt rename itself as the NKP(Maobadi) in 1996, but in march 1995.
