The Plan is apparently dead
editUSDA has scrapped NAIS in favor of a different but as yet unspecified system. Perhaps someone wuld like to research the new system and write an article, as well as converting the current article into an historical perspective. My personal POV is so anti-NAIS that I'd never stomach the task. Snezzy (talk) 10:36, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
wish it were true
editAlthough sadly, NAIS lives on in the twisted minds & black hearts of DC/big-city bureaucrats under a new name: - "Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) program" and they *claim* with a limited scope: http://beefmagazine.com/animal-id-nais/usda-animal-id-traceability-program-1001/
They'll keep trying until they get their own way under the guise of public safety/security (persistent bastages that they are), but is actually just more socialist-inspired arrogance since they naturally know what's best for the people, better than the people themselves. Land of the free & all... or so they say.
