Intelligence "Community" Etymology?
Anyone got anything on the etymology of calling a collection of intelligence agencies a "community"? Just read http://www.theweek.co.uk/society/45208/blood-spattered-trip-through-todays-lamentable-lingo - Alexander Cockburn talking about stupid word use. " Let's close with the summary execution of community. In the Sixties they didn't talk about "the intelligence community". They do now, which tells us all we need to know." - Does seem odd calling it a "community" Glen newell (talk) 06:47, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Excellent point. I added your comment/citation.--Wuerzele (talk) 04:09, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
