The article states, "Smith's mural was hung..." A mural is applied directly to the wall, such as by being painted onto it. Separate paintings, not part of the wall, can be hung on a wall. This work is one or the other (a mural or an unconnected painting), but it can't be both. Unable to travel to Lk. George today to see for myself, I must ask somebody who has been there or who knows which it is, and to make the appropriate correction(s).

Hmm. The nomination describes it as "a mural on canvas". I will assume Mr. Gobrecht was mistaken in his usage. Although at Wiktionary we say "A large painting, usually drawn on a wall." Daniel Case (talk) 06:50, 8 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
