- True. What the article doesn't tell you is that the main activity of the Brotherhood is to realease the master's doctrine, based on the paradygm that we are in the New Age of Aquarius since 1948 (erroneous calculations he himself presents) and that de la Ferrière is the avatar of this new age, or the second coming of Christ. Another thing the article doesn't mention is that, although the Brotherhood preaches unity among all people of different genders, ethnicities, nationalitites, social classes, etc., it is split up into more than 20 rival institutions, who dispute the authority of the master's teachings. Last but not least, another point left out is that although the Brotherhood is very welcoming to everyone, and has a group of nice folks, once you're inside the institution you face a rigid, vertical and masculine hierarchy, which is precisely the basic contradiction of the movement.

About the UGB and its founder
editThe founder of the UGB, Serge Raynaud de la Ferrière, has many inconsistencies in his biography. For instance, he claims in one of his letters to have earned five doctorate degrees, but where his biographers say he studied, he did not, and there are letters from various European universities confirming that he is not listed in their student files. Next, he copies several paragraphs from different authors without quoting them correctly. In one of his books, almost half of it is copied from a French author, which he only mentions here and there. Furthermore, he says he has the scientific proof of the vernal equinox in the constellation of Aquarius, in 1948, whereas it boils down to a calculation derived from his birth date. Besides, astronomically, the vernal equinox is still in Piscis. It would be a good idea to read his wife’s book (only in Spanish, free download here: http://louise.mejor.es/), to get a better glimpse of him. Lastly, he says he received recognition as a boddhisatva from a delegate do the Dalai Lama, in Burma, 1950, but the Office of His Holiness has sofar denied they know anything about him or the so–called delegate. - The link to Serge Raynaud's wife's book is broken. 189.152.84.224 (talk) 05:35, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
His wife's book can be downloaded at a website which Wiki has blocked. It is a free share website, so just google Serge Raynaud de la Ferriere and look for the website which offers a zip file of this book. It is on this google page:
