"Epicgenius" is very confused. AMTRAK never served the University Park / Park Forest South station and there was never a platform for them. No stops between Homewood and Kankakee. Not sure where you were getting that but would love to see a citation. Look up any Amtrak timetable you want: http://www.timetables.org/ ...and show us where trains were stopping at University Park.
Now then, back in olden times there would have been train service provided by Illinois Central to every little town like Peotone and Monee etc. But not University Park (Park Forest South) because it didn't exist in olden times. Matteson once had a 2nd platform (low level) that was removed long ago but non-commuter trains run by IC had not stopped there in decades, long before the coming of Amtrak. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.172.146.115 (talk) 04:50, 3 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
