Judge Reinhold is not a UMW Alum

edit

Someone keeps adding Judge Reinhold to the list of famous alumni. He never went to Mary Washington, though he did grow up in Fredericksburg.

How about you people identifying yourselves? --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 15:56, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

According to Judge Reinhold he did go to Mary Washington College before going to North Carolina School for the Arts, although there is no reference. IMDb confirms that he did attend. --67.184.178.108 05:53, 28 August 2007 (UTC)BoofReply

I work at the University of Mary Washington and I have checked with the Alumni Office and the Registrar. We have no record of him ever attending the institution. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.255.138.66 (talk) 13:13, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well then revert my edit, but you need to go to the Reinhold article and make the correction as well, and not just leave it incorrect. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 15:54, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Recent Racism

edit

The article really should be tagged for a current event over the racism exhibited the last 2 weeks - see the college newspaper: http://media.www.umwbullet.com/media/storage/paper1210/news/2007/11/01/News/Jefferson.Hall.Pranks.Offend.Staff-3073304.shtml?reffeature=recentlycommentedstoriestab —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.252.4.21 (talk) 12:58, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:UMV Logo.jpg

edit

Image:UMV Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:33, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

This page needs a new update of the UMW seal. The old one from MWC is still here. They also changed the mascot when they redubbed Mary Washington a university. Its all on the UMW website.

You have a link to Claudia Emerson as notable faculty. I will add links to sites there--Beth Wellington 15:44, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

President William Frawley

edit

President William Frawley is currently not the president [1] as he has been charged with two separate DUI's. Richard Hurley is the current acting president. Should this be included? 199.111.85.50 19:48, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also include the save "frawdaddy" campaign with the slogan "chug-a-lug-frawdaddy". Odd but true.

Citations

edit

I've added a bunch of citations to the page. How do I get rid of the citation box at the top? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.255.138.66 (talk) 13:17, 26 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup tag

edit

This article is heavily POV and written like an advertisement for UMW. I have tagged it, someone more knowledgeable about the university should remove the promotional language. Phrases like "located on a beautiful campus" are not proper tone for an encyclopedia article. --Coredesat 06:12, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have looked through the history and reverted the heaviest advert parts of the campus section back to their previous forms rather than attempt to rewrite the current text. Fourthofabushel (talk) 04:11, 8 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

I went to Mary Washington and will edit the page, but how does one remove the advert tag? --Blondewyn (talk) 01:45, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
