Notability

edit

The thing with the notability tag is that the Unreal series of games do not have any outstanding or otherwise remarkable soundtrack; it's has not been released separately in any official capacity, and it has not picked up any praise or mention from notable sources, meaning review sites and such. The problem is that it's more background music than anything else, and hence the notability problem. Eik Corell (talk) 23:06, 6 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreal Tournament 3 has an official soundtrack, but the others don't, at least individually, they have been released in the official CD "The History of Unreal Music" (Published by Epic on January 2006). Should I consider merging the sections in their respective articles? Pizte (talk) 09:39, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I think it might be best to consider this article for deletion unless notability can be established, but I doubt it; A search for the soundtrack of any of the games in the series points to torrent files and forums. Reviews don't seem to have any special praise for the soundtracks of the series. Check the article for the video game Freedom Fighters, the soundtrack is mentioned there because Jesper Kyd's work on it has been recognized by reviewers as outstanding, and the best soundtrack of the year. I have never heard any actual talk about the soundtrack of the Unreal series. Also, the Unreal 3 soundtrack was indeed on CD, but only as part of the Unreal Anthology. I wouldn't consider that a separate release. Eik Corell (talk) 18:07, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I'm making a backup (just for me and other UT related wikies, like Liandri Archives) and you can delete it. Thanks for your help! Since I'm new to wikipedia I still don't know very much about the article rules. Pizte (talk) 22:01, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
