The U.S. section
editThe U.S. section needs to be rewritten completely, citing reliable sources and avoiding geographic bias. Not all states observe the distinction between charter cites and general-law cities, nor are counties and townships always merely administrative organs of the state government. Also, while the article does not explain what it means for a city to be "answerable" to a county government, cities in many states are subject to the dictates of county governments in the counties' spheres of competence. Finally, editors are asked to keep in mind that just because something is the case in their own states, that does not make it a general rule throughout the U.S. Doctor Whom (talk) 21:31, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- Absent comment in over a month, I'll take care of this. Doctor Whom (talk) 16:24, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:39, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
