This article is full of originial research. Actually, as a student of Swedish and dialectology of Uppsala University, I can say it's so inaccurate and original that there simply aren't any sources that will support it. The article should be deleted or completely rewritten by someone who isn't making things up.
Some examples:

  • The contraction of "dk" is misunderstood. In this case it is simply an omission of "d". "K" before a soft vowel is generally pronounced [ɕ].
  • The phonemes section doesn't deal with phonemes at all. It's about orthography. Apart from that it's all original research and most likely home made.
  • The orthography and pronouns sections doesn't get any better. At least it's intelligible but it still has no scholarly support. Who in Västergötland (apart from User:Fågelfors-Glen) writes "gjer" and "snakke"? In any case there simply isn't any West Gothian written standard.

If this article wasn't so long I would have simply deleted it right away, but that sort of move usually just gets rolled back. I can see it has been suggested for deletion before but unfortunately nobody with the right knowledge was there to tell you this article is rubbish. I would suggest any (accurate) information about this dialect to be added to Götamål to correspond with the contemporary scholarly view on the topic and to cut down on potential redundant articles. We don't need 30 pages about sub sets of the 7 Swedish dialect groups anyway. Skrofler (talk) 22:43, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I may rewrite this article myself if no other is willing, but at the moment I really can't spare the time. Please let someone with both time and knowledge take a look at it because right now we're misinforming readers. Skrofler (talk) 09:37, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Since I failed calling attention to this article I have started rewriting it. I was born in Västergötland myself and have studied Scandinavian languages (including dialects) at Uppsala University so I feel competent enough to contribute without making major errors. The problem is that I still have limited time to spare for editing and if I was going to expand this article I would have to add sources, and that's the time consuming part.
