The phoneme /sh/ in Veshti does not belong to Tamil language. It is a later addition from Sanskrit. The original name in Tamil is Vēṭṭi (வேட்டி), and it is very much in use. Please see the corresponding page in Tamil. MS2P (talk) 14:26, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

VēṭṭiVeshtiWP:COMMONAME, English-language sources predominantly use this spelling rather than the native (Tamil) one the page has been moved to, as also evident by the very sources present on this page.
