Should we rename the tour?
editThey're calling it Fall 2007, but it runs into Winter 2008. (The Elfoid (talk) 12:10, 17 November 2007 (UTC))
- Yeah, it definitely needs to be renamed. Maybe rename it to "Van Halen 2007-2008 North American Tour"? Abog (talk) 06:46, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
I keep hoping for a press release telling us that the 2008 dates are a new tour. (The Elfoid (talk) 16:29, 27 November 2007 (UTC))
- I doubt it's a new tour, considering there's only a three-and-a-half week gap, and they're still performing in the same kinds of venues (large arenas) in the same country (U.S.). Usually it's only a new tour if they change the theme, the type of venues, the country/continent, or if there's a significant gap in time (several months). Abog (talk) 18:49, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Might re-title it though...
Van Halen are impossible to predict :((The Elfoid (talk) 23:08, 27 November 2007 (UTC))
The dates are a different font, and the band have dates in 2008 but have not actually called it part of the 2007 tour. I think we should create a Van Halen Winter 2008 Tour article, and possibly delete the World Tour 2008 one. We can still provisionally list WT2008 on the tour list page though. I'm not too bothered though, so only if someone else agrees with me. (The Elfoid (talk) 10:42, 29 November 2007 (UTC))
- I think it's all going to be part of the same tour. So, I think probably delete the World Tour 2008 article for now, since it is speculation. And leave this one as is until we hear otherwise. It seems to me that they're just taking off for the holidays before resuming the same tour. Van Halen has taken longer breaks before. I don't see why we need to have three articles about the same tour. Abog 17:11, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
My vote is retain the Winter 2008 US tour page I just made, since the band will almost certainly rename the tour when it begins again. However, yes, lets delete the WT08 one...the band are on the road till April. They'll want at least a month off...brings us to start of June. Then working on an album, at least 3 months....start of September. Then takes time to get ready for the road, call it mid September. The band would not start a world tour then that FINISHED before 2009. Plus they hinted at an album/world tour in 08, but that's seeming less likely with the American tour being stretched out. So yeah...chances of a world tour next year are now dead low. I'll delete it later, gonna eat now...(The Elfoid 18:07, 30 November 2007 (UTC))

"Screwed up" Jump
editI've read somewhere that it was in fact the guitar which was out of tune and not the synth backing track - from what i've heard in the video the bass doesn't seem to be out of tune either. Furthermore VH often plays jump at a higher key during their live performances
